Some fun!

Well there was a lot to chronicle lately.
My Bother came to visit in late June. That was so GREAT! We loved having him. The kids are attached to Uncle Eric now! We tried to go to Gold Myer Hot springs, but that, for multiple reasons, didn't happen. But we did get a nice bike ride out of that foray into the woods. Here's some pics.

It was a beautiful day and I was glad we got to be out in the forest for a while. We all got shakes on the way home too! YUM, thanks Uncle Eric!

Our kittens are growing up! Here they are on the Bronco seat...that's the second place they were moved to, after Lilly the Mom got tired of Gid and Claire messing with them all the time.
They are now living on the shop floor and scampering around all the stuff in there. I should take a video and post it...Too cute!

The biggest deal is we recently went to a Family Reunion in Utah. SO wonderful!
There was family from CA, ID, TX, WA, OH, UT, and probably more that I can't remember. We had three days of get togethers. One meeting for family business, one for just the women, a talent show, a dance, crafts, games, powerpoint slideshows, meals, meals, meals, and lots of chat, talk, play and talk some more.(A HUGE thank you to Susan and Mom and Dad for all the work they did for the meals!!!)

I even introduced some of the niephens (that's nieces and nephews combined) to 'Kick the Can'... and they loved it and want to play again! I hope I have revived this tradition to live again in the next generation! Some prime memories are of me (and inevitably my brothers and sister) and the neighbor kids playing 'kick the can' on summer nights. Gotta love it.

But the best thing was seeing my kids and the other niephens playing toghether almost non-stop. They had so much fun, and I remember having fun like that when I went to family reunions as a kid. It is amazing to see yourself in the rising generation and knowing that you are sharing some of the best things about your life with them. Sharing family. Truly, the best investment you can make is in people. I suppose that is why God hasn't given up on humanity yet...

Here is a pic of the sunrise on the way to UT. This is somewhere in Idaho I think...

We are lucky to have family on both sides of our family in UT. Dan's parents and Brother live there and we were able to visit and stay with them. That was so fun for everyone! Dan and his brother Paul had an especially great time... as you can see...

Yeay! I'm so glad you've had a chance to blog about the last couple of weeks. We sure had a grand time, didn't we? And I'm glad you got to have Eric there for a few days too. Mark & fam stayed here last night, and we had b-day cupcakes for Jacob :o)...but everyone's gone now. What you said about the kids & cousins - DITTO for me. That's why the work is so worth it all! Love you so much, Sis!
