Goldmyer Hot Springs

I heard about Goldmyer Hot Springs about 11 years ago.
Dan took his scouts up there and made his way back with enthralling and funny (if not down right embarrassing) stories. He's gone back there probably 5 times since then... each time bringing back more enticing info, be it more 'interesting' tales or beautiful photos. He kept updating me on how to get there but not actually getting me there. My longing to experience it for myself has only grown in those intervening years.  We have tried to get me up there twice and both times it fell through.
Well I am glad to report (Eric you will be so proud!) I finally got there!
It was one of Dan's birthday presents to me this year.
Goldmyer sits on virgin forest, the tree in the background is likely over 800 years old. It also sits 10 miles off a regular drivable road now and seems to get harder to get to each year because of road or bridge washouts.
The entrance of the hot spring pools.  You can see one of the lower (less hot) pools in the foreground.

The main and hottest of the pools (~110 degrees F at entry point) Its between 3-4 feet deep, and the floor is very uneven, as you can see. It goes back about 20 feet into the mountain side.
We had to take Baby Ben with us but we came prepared!
Ben had a blast bouncing around in his floaty and Mom and Dad had such fun watching him!

It was a birthday to remember!
Thanks Dan for an amazingly wonderful and memorable birthday!
