Really... are dirt floors so bad?

I give up!
Trying to keep my floor clean is like trying to stop the tide. 

I am convinced that solid dirt floors are actually the way to go for the next few years.  

I mean really!  I might as well have solid dirt floors instead of the dirt, carpet, wood mix that I currently run a broom over.  I'm certain I need to UPGRADE to solid dirt floors.  This dirt laminate stuff I've been dealing with is just not authentic enough for me. I mean a good scratch from a chair and I can see down to the maple. The carpet is a lot better at staying hidden but I'm just disgraced when people come over and if any of them shuffle their feet then the wood starts peeking through.

 How inconsistent does it have to be before you just say "Enough!"?  

I've also become aware that they are even considered environmentally friendly...

 I've given up trying to see the wood or carpet.  It might be down there somewhere, but I haven't seen them in years. So, heres to going au natural...
