Our family has been loving all the true winter that we are getting here in Idaho.
Weeks and weeks of snow on the ground, snow falling every week,
icicles growing on our roof ends,
slippery roads, snow tubing,
and just looking out at a beautiful white world.
(Warm and snug inside with a cup of hot cocoa. Gotta love that!)
Some things that make the intense winters here much more enjoyable than the milder winters in WA:
A furnace (!!! - as opposed to a wood stove with it's attendant cold trips to the wood shed, ash, dirt and general hassle.), a gas fireplace, new gloves and hats for Christmas, dry snow, good snow drivers with mainly flat roads, neighbors with tractors who plow your drive, hot cocoa and Express Aroma (the new version of Postum. Really good! But I get mine wholesale.), and lots of Netflix and Hulu shows to catch up on.
(We're all in the middle of a Stargate Atlantis run.)
Recently we took a loop trip up to Jackson, Wyoming and then over the mountain pass to Victor, Idaho, (where we were convinced we were moving earlier this year), then back home.
It was a fun trip for everybody.
Especially when we got out at the top of the mountain pass and did some snow tubing!
This is two of their antler arches in downtown Jackson. There are at least 4.
We saw this herd of elk... if you click on it to enlarge it you will see the herd strung out along the mountain.
Dan took this picture of one of the highest elevations we had that day. I reads 8448. Nice.
Ben was kind enough to drive when Dan and I felt like napping.
Also got this picture of the kids in front of a partially frozen waterfall which is closer to home.
It had been thawing that week. But the snow is back and freezing again.
And we revel. :)

Snow, snow and lots more snow. It looks beautiful. But so nice to get warm inside. Ya gotta love it! And we love you all.
You guys are in heaven - right where you wanted to be. Love the pic of Ben driving. :)
