Gideon's eagle project

In the city park of our little town, is a WWII 40mm gun that was taken off of a battleship and placed in our town originally as an anti aircraft gun for protecting the US from invasion. It was decommissioned at some point and then used as a monument. Its a dying site to see one of these guns in America now. The one we had in our town was looking a little shabby. For Gideon's eagle project, he decided to restore it.
He got the paint and scheduled a bunch of volunteers to come scrub and scrape it. They pressure washed thirty years of vrud glass debris off and out of it, then used wire brushes to scratch it up so the paint would have a good surface to stick to. Gideon and Dan spent some time researching the original paint scheme and also looking up the serial numbers for this gun to try get an accurate history of this gun that will go on a plaque at the guns base. Do the first part ofhis project is complete-scrubbing and scraping. As you can tell George was here and helped a lot. I will post more once more gets done.
