The lights STILL work? Our own Christmas miracle

5 years ago I bought 4 strands of clear mini lights and put them up on our 8 foot blue spruce tree as part of our christmas light decorations. Getting them up there was a circus event with me on the top of a ladder and Dan holding the bottom as I was reaching up and over, tipping the ladder and barely reaching the top of the tree. Understandably when that season was over I did not want to take them down,... so I didn't!
That summer the lawn mower created 3 strands out of the one bottom one, so we took that one off and tossed it. But the next Christmas time I looked at the rest of them still on the tree... algae covered... and plugged them in just to see what they's do. All the remaining strands lit up! I added a new one to the bottom and used them again.
And the next year, same thing, including the mower and the bottom strand.

And the next year,
and the next year,
and this year...
SAME THING!
..... same light strands FROM 5 YEARS AGO!
(Same lawn mower too.)
The tree is now probably 13-14 feet hight and the lights only go 2/3 the way up the tree but they keep going on each year and I keep being amazed!
Let me be clear. These were the cheapo lights from china that usually you have to replace every year, or every other year, cause they crap out on you, but for some reason these light strands survived, the elements (hot, cold, rain, snow) for 5 years. (excepting that poor bottom strand)

How crazy is that?!
And so, I have christened it
our Christmas miracle.

wow that really is a miracle! Our white lights that we put outside our apartment were broken this year :( the one thing I really don't like about christmas lights... so annoying.
