After days of stress and planning and replanning and washing and packing
and plenty of freaking out,
Dan and I got in the car
and drove away from it all.
House, work, KIDS and worries.
It was only for 2 days but it was still 2 days of ...ahhhhhhh....
It was kind of a be-lated anniversary, birthday and mother's day get away.
Our GREAT friends the Gremmerts were the ones who planned and forced us to go with them that weekend. I say forced because it's really hard for me and Dan to plan things just for us lately.
But I'm so glad they did!!!
We stayed at the Fairmount Olympic Hotel in Seattle, ...sooo nice! Went to the Metropolitan Grill for dinner on Friday (Can you say STEAK!!!) and then Ivar's Salmon House on Sat. (Now, say COPPER RIVER SALMON!) That restaurant is right on Lake Union and we went there years ago with my parents in our boat, you can moor at their dock and walk in from there!
We went to the Seattle Art Museum and rode the monorail, and had a carriage ride (both firsts for me) as well as walked around down town Seattle and the Westlake Center Mall and even went to the movies. It was great being tourists in our own local city! We hardly answered our cell phones, and Dan only used his laptop (yes, he did bring it) to check movie times and fun stuff.
It was really nice to just be us again.
Sometimes I feel so lost from that!
Carriage ride!

Once again, THANK YOU Gremmerts!
And THANK YOU Harpers and Minnochs for watching the kiddos!

I notice I'm looking pretty puffy!
Yay for baby weight...
I'm SO happy for you & your get-a-way. It's amazing how good those are for us, huh! You're looking wonderfully pregnant! 61 days to go...
That is so great that you got this great get-away! We all need that once in a while. Thank you all for helping Dan and Karen do it.
Hurrah for getaways!!! Moms and dads need them. I am so glad you had the chance to go. We miss you. Love to both of you. Mom F
