So I did this trick for FHE and substituted the ingredient names of choc. chip cookies with attributes, then had the kids do a hunt for the re-labled ingredients and make up the recipe. They had a blast... but maybe I should have been more careful about which particular recipe I copied for them to use???
Recipe for a happy family---
2 1/4 c. happiness attitude
1 tsp. learning
1 tsp. prayer
1 c. forgiveness
3/4 c. courtesy
3/4 c. love
2 gospel standards
1 tsp. hope
2 cups family fun
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a small bowl/home combine happiness attitude, learning and prayer, set aside. In a large bowl/world cream forgiveness, kindness, and love together until light. *Beat in gospel standards and hope until smooth.* (uh... ok...) Gradually add small bowl/home mix in until combined. Stir in family fun.
Drop by well rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 mins or until golden brown.
Well, however its labled... it tasted good! (but I still got a headache from the sugar... I mean the courtesy and love!)

I'm loving the idea - maybe we'll do that for FHE soon too! Ha ha about beating in the gospel principles. Did the kids figure everything out, or did Dan have to help them? :-)
They searched mostly by themselves Dan just helped with the up high things and with baking etc.
Very cute idea. I will have to try this one for FHE.
We actually did that for FHE tonight and then gave the cookies (that turned out so yummy- the best we ever made) to three of our friends in the ward. It was so much fun. Kevin and the kids loved it and had fun delivering the goods. We put the recipe on top of the plate of cookies so the other people could do it for thier FHE if they wanted to. Thanks for the idea. I read your post last week and thought that would be fun, and (amazingly)actually followed through. Thanks for a great FHE activity/lesson!
