Isaac and CORN

Some of you may know that since September of last year Isaac has suffered with a CONSTANT runny nose. And I mean constant. I was wiping his nose every five minutes all day long. ALL DAY! I was sure I was creating a callus on his upper lip. There was probably a total of 20 days for almost a year with no runny nose. 2 days here and 3 days there where he would clear up and I thought "He's better!" But no, it would always COME BACK! Well I went to two seperate pediatricians, not including his well baby exams where I questioned them about it then too, as well as our chiropractor. I was especially concerned because it was causing sleep apnea. NOT GOOD! Well the doctors all poo-poohed me and said "Babies just get sick alot their first year." UM hello!, this child is breastfed and has my antibodies! He shouldn't be this constantly sick!! My other two kids didn't get sick but twice the whole first year! At first I just wanted to believe them when they said it was normal so I didn't do that much about it. Well I started to really get concerned when his apnea was so bad I could hear him stop breathing for 7-8 seconds. The doctor said I shouldn't worry about it unless he stops breathing for 10 seconds or more... What!?!?! I started really praying, and researching. I tried eliminating milk, nuts, eggs, and any other foods I could think of as possible allergens. We also gave him a blessing. Looking back I should have done this so much sooner!!! Well not long after the blessing, Gid, Isaac and I all got strep throat. Yay for summer colds! We also all got antibiotics and what do you know!? The day after I started the Amoxicillin his runny nose stopped completely. COMPLETELY. No apnea, no constant discharge, no yellow, green or even clear goo running down his upper lip. PRAISE THE LORD! (and pass the ammunition, I wanted to take out those pediatricians!) My poor baby had probably had a low grade infection for 9 months!!!! So for two full weeks no runny nose. I was so happy I can't even tell you.
But.... though the apnea did not return the runny nose did. It wasn't yellow or green anymore but it was still a constant nose wipe from dawn to dusk. I was back on my knees for help again.

Well about a ten days ago we had Sunday dinner at a friends house. Roast beef and potatoes with all the trimmins. Including cut corn. Isaac had corn poop like most children in the morning, only it was more like corn diarrhea. And he got a terrible rash. I treated it and moved on. Well a couple days later we ate corn on the cob and same thing the next morning. "Hm" I thought. I have a very good friend who has a corn allergy and she gets diarrhea whenever she has even a smidgen of corn. For her that means no corn syrup, corn starch, corn meal ... NO CORN period!
Just for one day, go look at everything you eat and see if it has corn it it. You will be astounded at how much food has corn in it. Well I did an experiment... I still am actually, I took Isaac off of ALL corn. Not even a little. And guess what? No runny nose. Completely gone. I wiped his nose once today after he cried. Twice yesterday after we went out in the cold air. This is SO AMAZING to me! THIS is NORMAL!
I'm still waiting to see if it lasts long term, but so far I just want to to cry out to the sky...
Hallelujah!!!
