Claires Puppy party

Claire turned 7 this last week and I threw a Puppy Party for her. I stressed too much over it but it turned out really fun!
On the invitation we asked the girls to bring a stuffed puppy/pet with them and when they arrived we created ribbon collars with dog tags with their pets' names and a ribbon leash, then we groomed them and had a little "dog show" where they paraded around with their puppy and introduced them to us all and told about them etc.

It was great! Each girl had something to do and present. Then we played "dog trainer says" (Simon says) and poor puppy (like poor pussy I used to play as a kid, however this game tanked and we had to move on rapidly) and then musical chairs with the pets instead of the girls sitting down. (that one was tough to call and I wouldn't do it again.) But over all the party went really well. We had a paw print cake, and decorated paw print cookies I made and we gave out puppy themed goodie bags with pencils and stickers and, (surprise!) leftover Halloween candy.

SO!
Yes, I am reveling in my accomplishment and maybe gloating a little but this was my seldom-effort-made-lots-of-kids-over Martha Party! I won't be doing another big birthday party for probably 3 years and it will likely be much lower key. Whew! Glad that is over. And that it went so well. Do you think Claire enjoyed it?!
This time always marks the yearly anniversary of us moving into our house as well. We moved in two days after she was born. I can't believe it has been 7 years!

You sound so like me! Jason didn't get the party he wanted this year, poor fellow, but I just didn't feel like it! But it looks like it was plenty of fun to last another 3 years. :)

BTW, your kids were darling for Halloween, and I was noticing the same thing about Claire/Taylor, but I think C has more Howlett than Felt than T does.

Go MOM!

Thanks for blogging Karen. It is so great to see the kids. Wish we were there. I save the pics to my own file. Love momf
