Scoutmaster of the Year

Last week Dan and I went to the Annual Scout Leadership Awards Dinner. They called Dan and asked specifically if he would be there, so we knew something was up. (Incidently we went to this dinner last year, 4 days after Isaac was born, and my milk came in that night... painful evening,... we left early.)
Well as we suspected Dan was given an award.
Scoutmaster of the Year! This pic is of our Stake President, Dan and our Bishop. He was chosen out of the whole district. And let me tell you, Dan deserves it! He sacrifices and works hard in his calling. 3 years ago he recieved his Woodbadge which is the award at the end of Woodbadge training, which is the highest level of training for adult leaders that the Boy Scouts offer. He has been Scoutmaster 3 times in 3 wards in the last 10 years as well as venture leader and assistant Scoutmaster. The greatest thing about it all is that HE LOVES IT!! He enjoys his calling and has really delved into it and gone the extra mile to learn what he needs to, go where he needs to go, and be who he needs to be to teach the boys how to be examplary men. And he leads by example because he is one!
