We have a new ward.
Yup a NEW ward.
Never existed before 3 weeks ago, and now parts of two previous wards have been brought together to create the new BIG ROCK WARD of the Redmond, Washington Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Dan has been called as Scoutmaster and Second Counselor in the Young Men and I have been called as the Second Counselor in the Relief Society.
--insert wild-eyed, blank stare here--
I was overwhelmed for the first day, but then the Holy Ghost kicked me in the head (and heart) and I've been calm, happy and excited ever since.
I LOVE the sisters I've been called to serve with and look forward to working with and getting to know them as kindred-spirit sisters. We're starting from scratch... literally,... I have 5 Xeroxed pages of instructions from the General Hanbook, and a phone list.
I'm going on an ADVENTURE!
Dan has been regenerated. He is VERY excited to start fresh with a new group of boys, leaders and outlooks. He is very happy where he is and looks forward to the days ahead.
As do I.

wohoo! good luck with everything! You'll do great, I have always loved Relief Society and my callings in them. I am teaching, been doing that for almost 2 years and have loved it! Scoutmaster and Young Mens... that is so perfect for Dan. He's going to have so much fun this summer.
karen. Congratulations on your new calling. You will love it I am sure. keep reading that handbook. Love you. Mom F.
PS: You will be great.
The callings sound PERFECT for both of you! You'll be marvelous, and bring many blessings to those you serve - again, BOTH of you. We love you, and missed you this week, but you were in the right place. :)
That is great, Karen! It will be a joy for you to work in the Relief Society and learn to love serving the sisters. It sounds great for Dan, too. The change sounds exciting. Enjoy.
